Cough and cold are the most commonly occurring diseases during the winter season. Prevention is always better than cure. Although there are a number of flu vaccines, most of the times it turns out to be useless as there are a huge number of variants of virus causing the common cold. This is characterized by running nose, sneezing, headache, malaise (general weakness), low fever, sore throat, insomnia (sleeplessness), lethargy, and so on.
This disease mostly affects children or aged people whose immune system is weak. It does not mean that youngsters or middle-aged do not get this disease. There are a few remedies which can be followed during cough and cold:
1) One teaspoon of Ginger Juice mixed with honey can cure cough.
2) Add some lemon juice and honey to warm water. This can cure cough and cold.
3) A small piece of fresh ginger should be chewed with half a pinch of salt.
4) Turmeric powder mixed in warm milk.
5) Regular dose of half a teaspoon of Chawayanprash.
6) Feet, head and chest should be properly covered.
7) Water with hand full of rock salt should be used to take vapours in severe cough or mild could and heavyness in the head.
Eating tulsi leaves can prevent you from cold.
